Job Information

Job Duties: 
  • Search the OCLC online database to find records matching new library books
  • Search the Millennium catalog to verify the library’s current holdings and to check for duplicate call numbers
  • Input data and add records to our catalog
Required Qualifications: 
  • Fluent knowledge of English required
  • Reading knowledge of Western European language(s), aside from English (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese)
  • Familiarity with computers required
  • Must exhibit a strong work ethic and pay excellent attention to detail
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work efficiently, independently or as part of a team, and take initiative when workflow varies
  • Able to assist other units when necessary
  • Able to work a minimum of two hour blocks of time
Desired Qualifications: 
  • Basic knowledge of OSKICAT and MELVYL 
  • Basic computer literacy (Word, e-mail, Internet browsers, etc.)
  • Willing to work during winter, spring, & summer breaks
  • Previous library experience
Special Notes: 
  • WORK STUDY REQUIRED
  • During training, work hours are:  9am–5pm, Monday-Friday.  After training, during semester, work hours are 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday
