Job Information

Job Duties: 

Responsible for all public service desk transactions including loaning materials , study rooms , electronic devices (laptops, ipads, etc.) ; Checking IN materials ; Checking  IDs ; providing basic answers to basic directional questions including finding books and appropriate library services ; and sorting books and performing other clerical work/ project as assigned. 

Required Qualifications: 

Reliable, attention to detail, punctuality, and thoroughness will be key components of accomplishing satisfactory work at the most highly used service desks in the UC Berkeley library system.  These skills can be learned but previous experience and evidence displaying the above skill sets is a plus.

  • Required to work during Dead Week and Finals Week and Intersessions. (the same number of hours worked per week during the regular semester schedule).
  • Student MUST BE able to work during intersession.

We're looking for students who able to work the specific hours listed above.

This job requires a minimum commitment of 3 semesters and 12 hours per week work schedule. 

1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students preferred.
