Job Information

Job Duties: 

Building book trucks; sorting books; shelving books; straightening, shifting and shelf reading of the Main Stacks collection. Also, searching for books; verifying bibliographic records in the Millennium Integrated Library System; preparing books for storage in the Main Stacks and other locations. Opportunity for advancement in responsibilities and duties (i.e. assisting in scheduling tasks for large work force and supervising staff in absence of Stacks Supervisor).

Required Qualifications: 

Must be able to perform tedious and detailed work. Candidate must be responsible; able to balance class schedule with a minimum of 12 hours of work per week, Monday-Sunday. Should like physical work and should be able to perform physical tasks including repetitive crouching, bending, lifting (of books), pushing a loaded book truck, and standing for long periods of time. Must be available to work for at least a full semester.
